Pastor Michael and Lady Darlene Newman, natives of Phoenix, Arizona, experienced their new birth (both baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost) in August 1975 under the late Bishop AC Eddings. They remained under the tutelage of Suffragan Bishop David Eddings at First Pentecostal Church of Phoenix, Arizona. Both served their pastors well in several capacities for 17 years.  They were blessed to raise two children and adore four grandchildren.
 
Pastor Newman: 
  • Stepped out on faith receiving the pastoral call in May 1992  
  • Mission: save the lost and provide a safe haven for people to come and worship and experience the Lord through a regenerated life 
  • An anointed teacher and prolific prognosticator of the gospel
  • District Elder over several churches within the Mountain States Council
  • Chairman of the Apostolic Intercity Fellowship 
  • Leader in the Arizona State Fellowship 
  • Retired as a Chief of Safety and Security ~ Phoenix Union High School District after 30 years
  • Founder of the East Valley Apostolic Mass Choir - 2014
 
Lady Newman: 
  • A strong woman of God, supporting as a faithful help-meet in the ministry 
  • Mission: to be saved, stay saved, and help someone else be saved
  • A "willing worker/servant" in and for the kingdom of God as Church Administrator, Teacher, Minister of Music, Musician, Director of Women's Ministries and Ministers & Deacon's Wives and Speaker 
  • Banker for 20 years;  Executive Assistant, formerly at Phoenix Elementary School District (2 years) and currently at Maricopa Community College District (18 years)
  • Caretaker 
Gethsemane Park 
  • A strong spirit-filled church, lead by the Lord 
  • Strong, anointed ministries geared towards building and strengthening the kingdom of God through his love, teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Saints
  • Diverse congregation and multi-talented people in all areas and all ages
  • Fellowship throughout the valley and beyond

The principle of Gethsemane Park is "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: Nevertheless not my will, but thine be done" St. Luke 22:42.
